We work almost exclusively with natural materials and try to source them from suppliers whose integrity and values are aligned with ours.

Local

Fragrances are locally made, by hand, by a small team of dedicated people. We have ateliers in Vienna and Budapest, producing the fragrances inspired by each city.

In Dreams / Dans les rêves

This fragrance is an homage to Vienna and its tremendous cultural heritage. It is an introspective and luxurious scent, build on notes known for their dream-like effect: Damascena rose, the flower of love, intense real oud and mesmerising iris, with a base of tranquillity-inducing vetiver and sensual hibiscus. It is an entirely natural fragrance, made in Vienna.

The fragrance will be available to order from Autumn 2022 in 30 ml bottles of EDP concentration.Samples are available from March 2022, upon request.

The story

Dreams and Vienna have been closely linked in the popular imagination since 1899 when Freud published his theory that dreams are path to unconscious, unlocking feelings and memories we may not be aware of (in Die Traumdeutung). Doctors, shamans, and others can help with sleep dreaming. Perfumers are the masters of daylight dreaming for our fragrances have the power to transport us not only far away but also deep inside our past and memories. Smell is the sense most closely related with our childhood memories and scents have the power to take us back in time, to a different place and moment in our lives.

Karolyi’s garden / Le jardin de Karolyi

This fragrance is a happy scent, built around the linden tree blossom with a creamy base of Australian sandalwood and musky ambrette. It’s a haiku of a fragrance, floral but not sweet, enveloping but staying close to the skin. Its layers develop slowly to reveal its fragile beauty. It is an entirely natural fragrance, made in Budapest.

The story

Karolyi’s garden is hidden in plain sight, only steps away from the traffic in the centre of Budapest. It was built as a private sanctuary, belonging to Count Antal Károlyi’s whose mansion – now the Literature Museum borders it on one side. The University Square (Egyetem tér) is nearby so students are tempted to have lunch on its benches. At the other end, there is Magyar street (utca) with the former offices of Molnar and Moser, a Hungarian fragrance and cosmetic company famous before the 1950s but since forgotten. Fittingly, a nice perfume shop exists today on that row.

The garden is an unexpected oasis lined by linden trees and filled with the voices of children and the whispers of lovers. For almost two centuries, it has been enchanting its visitors and making them linger, drunk with the scent of summer. We tried to bottle that smell for you, to give you a moment of pleasure in your daily routine.
